1. What alcohol testing technology does Alcolyzer use?

Our Alcolyzer H3 uses industrial grade advanced platinum fuel cell technology, and the H2 uses colorimetric (chemical) reaction technology. Both lead to fast and accurate readings of your BAC results at all times.
2. How do they work?

Alcolyzer breathalysers' work by analysing a breath sample blown into the device and calculating the concentration of alcohol levels that is found within the breath sample or breath alcohol concentration (BAC).

An alcohol breath tester does this either by using Fuel Cell technology (H3) or Reactions Redox technology (H2)
3. How accurate are they?

Breathalysers are the easiest and most accurate way to estimate a person’s intoxication level by measuring the concentration of alcohol found in an individual’s breath sample.

The H3 has accuracy range of 99 - 100% and the H2 has an accuracy range of 96 - 100% (dependent on colour gradient).

Both models have been independently tested and proven.
4. What are alcohol testing best practices?
  • Ensure test subject has not consumed food or drink for 15 to 20 minutes before the test
  • Use a new mouthpiece for every new test subject
  • Send your device for calibration every 6-12 months to ensure optimal results and accuracy at all times.
